You want to pay attention to the owner's manual for your car in order to know just how long you can drive your car before getting it in to have new brakes put on. However, there is also a built-in feature that will likely let you know when the time has come for you to have the brakes replaced, and that is a squeaking sound that will come from the wheel areas when you are driving. When you hear this sound, take the car in right away.
Oil changes and tune-ups
Oil changes and tune-ups are also things that you are going to need to stay on top of. This is especially true of oil changes since newer models of cars are being designed more and more to go for longer periods of time before they need to go into the repair shop for a tune-up. While the car is in for an oil change, all of the other fluid levels will be checked and topped off if they need to have some more added.

It is more common for there to be issues with a car's air conditioner than with the heater, and this is generally due to the fact that more stress is put on this system than the heater since the heater uses heat already there and the air conditioner needs to work to cool the car.
Cooling system issues
Another common problem that cars tend to end up in the shop for are problems with the cooling system. The cooling system includes the radiator, and the radiator can have different types of problems, such as leaks or clogs. When the radiator has issues, then it won't keep the car cool, and this leads to the car overheating. If you notice your car has been running hotter than normal or if you have had it overheat, then you should take it into the auto repair shop and have its cooling system checked.
